Hello! A pair of white (p)leather Keds look-alikes recently fell into my possession. And by white, I mean their whiteness burns your eyes a little bit if you look directly at them. Something needs to change. I’m considering recovering them in a more aesthetically pleasing fabric, but any other suggestions would be marvelous! Thanks!
Ahh, white shoes. The bane of the clumsy girl’s existence. There are lots of shoe makeover DIYs out there, but how to find one that you actually want to wear on your feet? Once you’re at a certain age the old puff-paint trick no longer feels very classy.Pictured above are two great makeovers by Honestly WTF. The first pair are all about the shiny - glitter and rhinestones. The glitter cover is actually quite hard wearing and well, they’re inspired by Miu Miu so you know it’s fashionable.
If you’re not a glittery girl, then studs are a great alternative. A quick search on etsy and you will find tons of different styles - metal, coloured, big and small. If you don’t want to do the studs over the white, paint your shoes first with fabric paint.
And of course there is as you said the fabric option. Make It Love It has a great tutorial here.
Good luck - I’d love to see your final product!
